A cataract is a clouding up of the lens within the eye resulting in a decrease in vision. They will have an effect on one or each eyes. Usually they develop slowly. Symptoms might include light colours, hazy vision, halos around light, problem with bright lights, and problem seeing at the hours of darkness. Cataract leads to cloudiness in the lens of eyes which causes decrease in eye vision. Due to cataract, light cannot easily pass through retina which causes blurred vision. It often develops slowly. Protein or yellow brown pigment gets deposited within the lens. Cataract is the cause of nearly half of the blindness. It occurs mostly due to aging or sometimes due to trauma or exposure to radiation.
