Systems Biology Applications
Systems biology is an approach to understanding the bigger picture in biomedical science, whether it is at the level of the organism, tissue or cell, by bringing together its pieces. This contrasts strongly with decades of reductionist biology, including the division of the bits. Still, few biological systems have been adequately characterized to enable researchers to model them as networks. Examples include structures for the lactose- and galactose-use of some bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Streptococcus. Biology of the structures can be considered from different perspectives. In particular, as a field of research, the research of the interactions between the components of biological systems and how these interactions give rise to the role and conduct of that system.High Impact List of Articles
