Remote Sensing .

Remote sensing is that the process of detecting and monitoring the physical characteristics of a neighborhood by measuring its reflected and emitted radiation at a distance (typically from satellite or aircraft). Special cameras collect remotely sensed images, which help researchers "sense" things about the world . Some examples are:Cameras on satellites and airplanes take images of huge areas on the surface , allowing us to ascertain far more than we will standing on the bottom . Sonar systems on ships are often wont to create images of the ocean bottom without having to visit rock bottom of the ocean. Cameras on satellites are often wont to make images of temperature changes within the oceans.
