Progesterone

Estrogen, or oestrogen, is the main female sex hormone. It is accountable for the growth and rule of the female reproductive system and secondary sex physiognomies. There are three main endogenous estrogens in females that have estrogenic hormonal action: estrone, estradiol, and estriol. The estrane steroid estradiol is the greatest potent and predominant of these. Estrogens are manufactured in all vertebrates as well as approximately insects. Their attendance in both vertebrates and insects suggests that estrogenic sex hormones have an ancient evolutionary history. The three main naturally occurring forms of estrogen in women are estrone (E1), estradiol (E2), and estriol (E3).
