Plantar Warts Scientific Journals
A wart is a growth in the
skin caused by certain types of the
virus called human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV infects the top layer of the skin, and usually enters the body in a broken
skin area. The virus causes quick growth of the top layer of skin, forming a wart. Within months or years, most warts go away by themselves. Warts can grow on the body anywhere, and there are different sorts. Common warts, for example, grow on the hands most frequently but they can grow anywhere. Plantar warts grow on feet sole. Warts come in a wide array of forms and sizes. A wart may be a bump with a rough surface, or it may be smooth and flat. Tiny blood vessels grow into the wart 's core for blood supply. Those blood vessels may look like dark dots in the center of the wart in both common and plantar warts. Waiting is generally painless. But it can be painful to have a wart that grows at a spot where you put pressure, such as on a finger or on the foot bottom.
