Oxidative Phosphorylation

A series of electron transport reactions across the membrane of mitochondrion for the generation of ATP is termed as the oxidative phosphorylation. Electrons are transferred from electron donors to electron acceptors such as oxygen, in redox reactions. These redox reactions release energy in the form of ATP. The NADH and succinate generated in the citric acid cycle are oxidized, releasing energy to power the ATP synthase which converts ADP to ATP. Open access OMICS International Publishing Group aimed to provide the readers a barrier free flow of research work and conceptualized knowledge through online. To speed up the pace of scientific innovations, discovery, quality enriched education system and increase the global economy, open access is a key to success in dissemination of knowledge to world community.
