MSDs include tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, bone fractures. The severity of MSDs can vary. In some cases, they cause pain and discomfort that interferes with everyday activities. Early diagnosis and treatment may help ease symptoms and improve the long-term outlook. Symptoms of MSDs can include recurrent pain, stiff joints, swelling, dull aches, They can affect any major parts of your musculoskeletal system, including the following: Neck, shoulders, wrists, back, hips, legs, knees, feet. To diagnose your condition, they’ll likely perform a physical exam. They will check for: Pain, redness, swelling, muscle weakness, muscle atrophy. Musculoskeletal conditions are prevalent across the life-course and most commonly affect people from adolescence through to older age. The prevalence and impact of musculoskeletal conditions is predicted to rise as the global population ages and the prevalence of risk factors for noncommunicable diseases increases, particularly in low- and middle-income settings. Musculoskeletal conditions occur commonly with other noncommunicable diseases in multimorbidity health states.
