Hemiparesis

 Hemiparesis, or unilateral paresis, is weakness of one entire side of the body. Hemiplegia is, in its most severe form, complete paralysis of half of the body. Hemiparesis and hemiplegia can be caused by different medical conditions, including congenital causes, trauma, tumors, or stroke. Hemiparesis is a condition that is commonly caused by either stroke or cerebral palsy, although it can also be caused by multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, and other diseases of the nervous system or brain. The word, 'hemi,' means, 'one side, while, 'paresis,' means, 'weakness. Hemiplegia means paralysis of one side of the body. Hemiparesis means a slight paralysis or weakness on one side of the body. Cerebral palsy is a broad term referring to abnormalities of motor control or movement of the body caused by an injury to a child's brain.
