Economic Capital
Economic capital can be defined as the methods or practices that allow banks to attribute capital to cover the economic effects of risk-taking activities. Regulatory capital is conceptually similar to Economic Capital. Economic capital is based on banks internally derived risk measurement methodology and parameters that may not align with the framework prescribed by the regulators. Peer review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and reduces the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views.
