Cardiac Ischemia Review Articles

Cardiac ischemia refers to the cardiac muscle being deprived of blood supply and oxygen. Cardiac ischemia occurs when an artery is narrowed or blocked for a short period, thereby preventing the entry of oxygen-rich blood into the heart. If ischemia is severe or lasts too long it can result in a heart attack ( myocardial infarction) and can lead to death of the heart tissue. For most cases, the discomfort of angina pectoris causes acute blood loss to the neck. For other cases, however, there is no harm. These cases are called ischemia silente. Silent ischemia can interrupt the rhythm of the heart, too. Abnormal rhythms such as ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation can affect the pumping capacity of the heart and can cause fainting or even sudden cardiac death. Review Articles have different aims and requirements. Sometimes, a piece of writing describes a replacement tool or method.
