Affinity Chromatography Impact Factor

Affinity chromatography is a kind of liquid chromatography technique for the separation and analysis of biomolecules on the basis of their biological functions or individual structures, has become increasingly important and useful separation methods in pharmaceutical, biochemistry, biotechnology and environmental sciences. In particular, this technique is known as the most specific and effective protein purification technique. Biomolecule separation is dependent on highly complex biological interactions between two molecules, such as the enzyme and the substrate. These usually reversible interactions are used for purification by putting one of the interacting molecules, called affinity ligand, on a solid matrix to create a stationary phase while the target molecule is in mobile phase. Any component may be used as a ligand to purify its respective binding partner. Impact factor reflects the average number of citations of recent articles published in science and social science journals in a given year or period, and is often used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal in its field.
