Abstract
Ediorial Note
Biotechnology: An Indian Journal is an open access journal that places a momentous role in publishing novel and high-quality research papers and other material on all topics concerning biotechnology. I am pleased to say that in the year 2019, all problems with volume 15 were published online well within the time, and therefore the print issues were also brought out and dispatched within 30 days of publishing the difficulty online.
The JCR impact factor of TSBT for the year 2019 was increased to 0.86. The H-index of the journal, however, increased to 5 and the journal ranked one of the best journals among all journals in the field of biotechnology with efficient peer-review process. The journal is indexed in several international databases such as open j gate, china national knowledge infrastructure, citefactor, cosmos if, secret program labs, and directory of research journal indexing.
Biotechnology: An Indian Journal publishes one volume annually with new articles being added instantly. The journal encourages research scientists, faculty, and students who are actively involved in scientific research and teaching at all levels, to submit their articles for intensive peer-reviewing and expedite publishing. People from small and non-research oriented institutions are primarily encouraged to submit their original articles for publication consideration.
The journal presents an efficient way to publish original research articles, review articles, case-report, short communication, letter to the editor, etc. The articles are going to be managed electronically, reviewed by a scientific committee and anonymous evaluators, and issued monthly in html and pdf forms.
During the calendar year 2019, TSBT received a total of 60 papers, out of which 35 articles (58%) were rejected in the preliminary screening due to plagiarism or being out of the format and peer review process. During 2019 around 21 articles were subjected for publication after they are accepted in the peer review process. In the 6 issues of volume 15 published during the year 2019, a total of 21 articles were published (at an average of 3 articles per issue) of which, articles were published from authors all over the world. A total of 110 research scientists from all over the world reviewed the 21 articles published in volume 15. The average publication lag time of an article was further reduced to 2 to 3 weeks.
During the calendar year 2019, a total of 10 editors, 15 reviewers joined the board of TSBT and contributed their invaluable services towards contribution as well as publication of articles.
I take this chance to acknowledge the contribution of Dr. Alireza Heidari, editor-in-chief during the final editing of articles published and the support rendered by the editorial assistant, Gloria Simmons in bringing out issues of TSBT in time. I would also like to express my gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, the publisher, the advisory and the editorial board of TSBT, the office bearers for their support in bringing out yet another volume of TSBT and look forward to their unrelenting support to bring out the volume 16 of TSBT in scheduled time.
