Abstract
Yeast Signal Transduction
Author(s): Emmy walkSignal transduction is quickly becoming one of biology's most important research areas. This isn't unexpected, given that practically every biological phenomenon includes or is influenced by signalling. A large portion of the signalling molecules in multicellular organisms are used for cell-to-cell communication. Extracellular messengers activate intracellular signal transduction pathways in target cells, altering metabolism, proliferation, and development.
