Abstract
Three-componentMannich-type reactions by bromotriphenylphosphonium bromide catalyst
Author(s): Hong-RuDong, Sheng-XianZhai, Fu-HongCuiBromotriphenylphosphoniumbromide catalyzes Mannich-type reactions in a variety of aldimines, generated in situ from aldehydes and anilines, with enolizable ketones in three-component reactions to afford the corresponding â-amino carbonyl compounds. The catalyst BTPPB depletes water which was produced by the reversible reaction. The salient features of this protocol are shorter reaction time, simplicity of the procedure, good to workexcellent yields, avoidance of aqueous workup and column-chromatographic separations. The supramolecular structure of the compound 4j was discussed
