Synthesis, crystal, spectroscopic characterizations and electrochemical properties of 1-(2-hydroxy4,6-dimethylphenyl)ethanone
Author(s): Mehmet T?¼mer, Vickie McKee, Ferhan T?¼merWe obtained the compound 1-(2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethylphenyl)ethanone (L) fromtoluene solution. The spectroscopic properties of the compound were investigated by the infrared, electronic absorption, 1H- and 13C-nmr and mass spectrum techniques. Structure of the (L) was investigated by the X-ray analysis. The two molecules are very similar but crystallographically independent. The first one is linked to a neighbour via two long C-H••••O hydrogen-bonds and the second molecule is paired with a symmetry equivalent by ï°ï€Âï° stacking. Electrochemical properties of the compound were investigated by the cyclic voltammetry at different scan rates and pH media.
