Abstract
Synthesis and pharmacological activities of some new pyrimidines and thiadiazoles bearing mefenamic acid
Author(s): Kashinath Noubade, Y.Rajendra Prasad, T.Vijay kumar, R.H.UdupiThe thiosemicarbohydrazides (3a-e) prepared from the reaction of 2-[2,3- dimethylphenyl) amino] benzocarbohydrazide (2) and aryl isothiocyanate. Which upon condensation with malonic acid in presence of acetyl chloride and sulphuric acid afforded 2-(2,3-dimethyl phenyl amino)-N-(4,6-dioxo-3- (aryl substituted)l-2-mercaptotetra- hydro pyrimidine-1-(2H)-yl) benzamide (4a-e) and 5-[2-(2, 3-dimethylphenyl amino) phenyl]-N—(aryl substituted)- 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-amine (5a-e), respectively. The purity of the compounds was checked by TLC. All newly synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of IR, 1HNMR, mass spectral data and elemental analysis.
