Abstract

Synthesis and Antiviral Activity of Some Novel 6-Bromo/6, 8-dibromo, N-benzoyl-4-(4-oxo-2-phenyl-4H-quinazolin-3-yl)-Benzenesulphonamide

A series of novel 2, 3-disubstituted quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivatives have been synthesized by condensation of 2-substituted 1, 3-benzoxazin-4-ones and sulphabenzamide. Their chemical structures were assigned by means of spectral analysis (FT-IR, 1H-NMR, MS). Synthesized compounds were screened for antiviral activity against HIV 1 and 2 in MT-4 cells. Compound SPB exhibited 47 percent maximum protection against replication of HIV-1 in acutely infected MT-4 cells.
