Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of 5-{4'-[(6"-Aryl)-2"-Amino-3"-Cyano Pyridine-4"-Yl] Phenyl Carbamido}-Dibenz [B,F] Azepines

PatoliaThe titled compounds (4a-4k) have been synthesized by the condensation of 5-{4'-[(3"-aryl)-2"-propene-1"-one]- phenyl carbamido}-dibenz [b,f] azepines with malononitrile and ammonium acetate. The biological activities of these compounds have been determined against various Gram +ve, Gram –ve bacteria and fungi. The constitutions of the products are supported by IR, 1H NMR, Mass spectra and elemental analysis.
