The production of phosphoric acid and phosphate salt from Sebaiya phosphate ore was studied by leaching with nitric acid. Various factors affecting the process as particle size, leaching time, leaching temperature, phosphate rock/HNO3 ratio and mixing speed, have been investigated to estimate the optimum phosphate ore dissolution in relation to impurity. The produced aqueous acidic solution was neutralized in such a way that a pure calcium monohydrogenphosphate (CHP) for animal fodder is precipitated.
