Abstract
Hydrosilylation Of Styrene Catalyzed By Carbon Nanotube-Supported Pt With High Selectivity Bf ²-Addition
Author(s): Yan-feng DAI, Feng-yi LI, Bin XIAOHydrosilylation of styrene with methyldichlorosilane was carried out using hexachloroplatinic acid in polyethylene glycol medium supported on carbon nanotubes as a catalyst, which is an active and thermally stable supported catalyst prepared readily from easily available materials, hexachloroplatinic acid, polyethylene glycol and carbon nanotubes. The catalyst displays higher conversion, remarkably improved β-addition selectivity and excellent recyclability relative to Speier’s catalyst in the room temperture solvent-less hydrosilylation of styrene using methyldichloro silane.
