Abstract
Growth and sporulation of Bacillus mucilaginosus in a pressure oscillating, solid-state fermentation using peat as an inert support
Author(s): Jiang Qi-Pei, Li Zuo-HuBacillus mucilaginosus was cultured on peat for biofertilizer production in a pressure oscillating, solid-state fermentation. The effects of pressure amplitude, oscillation frequency and moisture content were studied in detail. At desirable culture condition such as 2 atmpressure amplitude, 15 min oscillation frequency and initialmoisture content 83.3%, viable spores of Bacillus mucilaginosus reached 1.7×108 c.f.u. g-1 (Chinese standard: 1×108 c.f.u. g-1).
