Growth and characterization of l-arginine diphospate single crystals

The experimental results of optical, mechanical, electrical and photoconductivity studies of nonlinear optical crystal L-arginine dinitrate (LADN) are presented. Good optical quality single crystalswith dimensions up to 11 ï‚´ 7 ï‚´ 6mm3 were obtained. LADN has a wide optical transmission windowbetween 251 and 1200 nm. Its optical damage threshold and SHG efficiency is comparable with that of KDP.
