Abstract
Fabrication and Characterization of Al2O3-CeO2 coating on Ta6v substrate for high Temperature Applications
Author(s): S. Guerfi, S. Hamdi, E. B. Hannech and M. BououdinaAl and Ce films have been deposited on TA6V alloy by physical vapor deposition of Al and cathodic electrode position process from a Ce(NO3)3, 6H2O and mixed water-ethyl alcohol solution at 0.01 M, respectively. The experimental conditions for the achievement of a uniform deposit, adherent and non-cracking were identified and determined by electrochemical methods. The transformation of the deposited layers into CeO2 and Al2O3 oxides obtained by heat treatment of the coated alloy, is expected to increase the resistance to high temperature oxidation. The coating films were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
