Abstract
Evaluation of Corrosion of Steel Embedded in Geopolymer Concrete in Contact with Acidic Soils
Author(s): W. Aperador, J. Duque and J. Bautista-RuizIn this article, electrochemical tests concrete cylinders obtained in a mixture of ground granulated blast furnace slag is studied. Assays were performed by stabilizing the half-cell potential measurement and then using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, in a solution which simulates an acidic soil (variation pH = 4.0 to 5.5), test were performed for 12 months. In addition to the mechanical properties compared to the results of corrosion, it is characterized. After the evaluation period steels were extracted to determine the morphology and corrosion products through the techniques of scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.
