Abstract

Effect of Temperature Rise on Amlodipine Besylate

Author(s): R. N. Shukla and Pankaj Sharma

Effect of temperature rise on amlodipine besylate reveals that by gradual increase of storage temperature of amlodipine besylate from 2ºC to 35ºC, it is stable but after increase of each 1ºC there is a decrement in assay value vary from approximately 0.4% to 0.6% upto 42ºC and thereafter, there is a sudden drop in assay values upto 50ºC. After 50ºC when further exposed to higher temperature its degradation starts and lose its assay value significantly and found unsuitable for human use.
