Abstract
Effect of some oxadiazoles derivatives on the corrosion of mild steel in hydrochloric acid solution
Author(s): I.Forsal, A.Elyaktini, M.Ebn Touhami, B.MernariThe inhibition of the corrosion of mild steel in 1M HCl by 2,5-bis(nmethylphenyl)- 1,3,4-oxadiazole (n-DTOX) has been investigated at 300C using electrochemical and weight loss measurements. The comparative study of oxadiazoles derivatives indicates that the corrosion inhibition of 2,5-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole being themost efficient and 2,5- bis(2-methylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole the least. The associated activation corrosion and free adsorption energies have been determined.
