Abstract
Corrosion inhibition and adsorption behavior of new 2,3bis-((2-aminoethoxy)dimethylsilyloxy)-N-(2-(2-aminoethylamino)ethyl)-4,5,6-trihydroxyhex-2-enamide (AEDSHE) on carbon steel surfaces in 0.5 M hydrochloric acid

The inhibitive action of inhibitorAEDSHE at concentration 0.0, 5.0, 10.0, 20.0, 30.0, and 40.0 ppm on the corrosion of Carbon Steel in 0.5MHCl solutionswas evaluated by open circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and weight loss measurements. All the studied showed good inhibitive characteristics against the corrosion of Carbon Steel. Polarization data indicated that the studied compound is cathodic inhibitor without changing themechanismof hydrogen evolution reaction. The adsorption of inhibitor on Carbon Steel obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The morphology of the formed films was also examined by scanning electronmicroscope (SEM) and EDX.
